The nameWarrap came from two Dinka words war and rap, war means river and rap means grain which means river of grains. This was due to fertility of soil when a person cultivates small portion of land, the harvest would be big enough for the family consumption. Warrap state has an area of 31,027 km² and home to Rek sub tribe of the larger Dinka Tribe. This part of South Sudan has all type of seasons and it is a savannah climate area with many trees and tall grasses. Many rivers run across Warrap flow into the Nile. There is great hope for the state of Warrap with such fertile land to help regenerate this region. Currently Warrap is the poorest state in South Sudan due to its lack of infrastructure and development. One of the main contributing factors to this was the area between Wau and Gogrial was one of the main fighting grounds between the opposing forces. THE MALONY COMMUNITY
