Refugees and Internally Displaced

An estimated 4.4 million Sudanese have been uprooted including 4 million internally displaced, making Sudan home to the largest internally displaced population in the world.
These displaced citizens have the least access to water, sanitation, health care and food.

There are at least 440,000 refugees and asylum seekers in neighbouring countries. Click here to hear Story.

At least 34,000 street kids live in one of the many refuges camps situated within Khartoum

These children are commonly called "Shamassa" meaning children of the sun. They come from the most devastated and vulnerable areas. They live where they can, eat what they can and many don't even exist in the eyes of the world.

A major injection of social services is needed in both Southern Sudan and the refugee camps to provide hope and life to these people.
